Gopher Men’s Basketball Set to Hold Maroon and Gold Scrimmage Homecoming Saturday

The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will hold a Maroon and Gold Open Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2:30 p.m., four hours before the start of the Gopher Homecoming Football game vs. Purdue. Game time for the football game is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start.
The event is open to the public as a "first glance" opportunity for fans attending the football game to check out the Gophers and head coach Niko Medved. Following the one-hour scrimmage at Williams Arena, the Golden Gophers will sign autographs near the court.
Fans are encouraged to enter the scrimmage through the Maturi Pavilion Daily Entrance, located at 1925 University Ave. Tailgate lots for the Gopher football game are scheduled to open at noon or 12:30 p.m. that day. A concession stand will also be available in the southwest corner of Williams Arena (University Ave) during the scrimmage.
Minnesota opens the Medved era with a pair of exhibition games scheduled for October 16 and October 25 vs. North Dakota State and North Dakota, while the 'U' opens the season vs. Gardner-Webb on Nov. 3.
Gopher season tickets are available now. Single-game tickets and mini-plans for the upcoming season are available to season ticket holders and Gopher Score members now, and will be open to the public tomorrow September 25, at 9 a.m.
