Minnesota has announced the third nonconference schedule under head coach Dawn Plitzuweit
MINNEAPOLIS - Coming off its first 25-win season since 2004-05 and a Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament championship, Minnesota has announced the third nonconference schedule under head coach Dawn Plitzuweit. The schedule features 11 games, including seven home contests at historic Williams Arena.
Single-game tickets will go on sale at a later date. Television and streaming coverage, tipoff times, and the promotional schedule will be announced later. Fans can secure their seats for all home games by purchasing season tickets at GopherSports.com.
The Golden Gophers open the season on Nov. 4 at home against North Dakota.
Minnesota then hosts Manhattan on Nov. 7, followed by a matchup against BIG EAST opponent Marquette on Nov. 11. The game against the Golden Eagles, who advanced to the second round of last season's WBIT, marks the start of a home-and-home series that will conclude in Milwaukee next season.
The Gophers continue their homestand Nov. 14 against NJIT before traveling to face Big 12 member Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse on Nov. 19. That game kicks off another home-and-home series, with Kansas returning to Minneapolis for the 2026-27 season.
Minnesota's second road trip takes the team to the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, Bahamas, an elite multi-team event featuring top mid-major and Power Four programs. The Gophers will face South Florida on Nov. 24, coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the AAC last season, followed by a matchup Nov. 26 against either Harvard or Alabama - both 2025 NCAA Tournament participants.
The nonconference schedule at Williams Arena concludes with three home games: Samford on Dec. 1, Alabama A&M on Dec. 10, and Wyoming on Dec. 14. Alabama A&M is coming off a 21-win season and a WNIT appearance, while Wyoming recorded 22 wins and reached the WBIT.
Minnesota wraps up its nonconference slate with a Dec. 21 road trip to Drake, a Missouri Valley Conference team that participated in last season's WBIT and consistently ranks among the nation's top mid-majors.
