Deakins leads team in 'U' debut
LAKE ELMO, Minn. - The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished round one of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M in 12th place Monday. The Golden Gophers ended their first day of the 2025-26 campaign behind a team score of 309 (+21) at The Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
Senior newcomer Olivia Deakins headlined the day individually for the Maroon and Gold with a 2-over-par 72. She grabbed three birdies on her round to finish tied for 15th place.
Northwestern sits at the top of the team leaderboard with a score of 287 (-1).
Notable:
Sister duo Isabella and Reese McCauley both closed day one with a score of 78 (+6). They will enter round two tied at 43rd overall.
Sophomore Jordana Windhorst-Knudsen and junior Mariana Mesones ended the first round in 51st place after each carded a 79 (+7).
Looking Ahead:
The second round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M will take place Tuesday, Sept. 9. Tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. live from The Royal Golf Club with live results available via Scoreboard by Clippd.
