Streit Leads the Way at Snowshoe Open

2/20/2026 9:34:00 PM | Men's Track & Field, Women's Track & Field

The redshirt junior moved up to No. 6 in the NCAA this year in the weight throw.

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota track and field team collected 18 event victories on Friday afternoon at the Snowshoe Open to close out the indoor regular season at the University Fieldhouse. The Maroon and Gold posted a number of lifetime bests, highlighted by All-American Hadley Streit in the weight throw.

Streit, a Mounds View High School grad, launched her fifth-attempt 22.39m (73-5 1/2) to improve on her No. 4 all-time weight throw mark in school history. Streit's lifetime-best mark propelled the redshirt junior from No. 8 to No. 6 in the NCAA this year and helped her finish third overall at the meet behind teammate Anthonett Nabwe (22.98m | 75-4 3/4) and alum Nayoka Clunis (22.92m | 75-2 1/2). Rejoice Agbewodie also eclipsed 20-meters in the women's weight throw competition, a lifetime best for the first-year Gopher to move to No. 33 in the NCAA in 2025-26.

Sofia Condon was victorious in the women's pole vault with a season-best clearance of 4.07m (13-4 1/4) while Elsa Bergman's winning indoor mile performance converted to 4:57.70, an 11-second lifetime best for the Hopkins High School grad. Also on the track, true freshman Kyaliah Davis won the 60m final in a time of 7.57 seconds, which is a season-best and a top-five time by a Big Ten freshman in the event this season.

A total of 12 of the 18 Minnesota victories on Friday night came from unattached student-athletes. The most notable women's unattached victory was arguably true freshman Ayisat Adebayo's 12.29m (40-4) winning triple jump performance. Adebayo's triple jump would rank the Inver Grove Heights, Minn., native fourth among Big Ten freshmen in 2025-26.

Among the men's unattached results Wanyae Belle's 6.67 in the 60m, Hakeem Ford's 15.98m (52-5 1/4) in the triple jump and Anthony Barmes' 22.21m (72-10 1/2) in the weight throw were all outstanding performances for the men's team that now shifts its focus completely on the outdoor campaign. Minnesota's men will first compete outdoors on March 6-7 at the Beach Opener in Long Beach, Calif.

Minnesota's women return to the Fall Creek Pavilion for the Big Ten Indoor Championships next week. The Maroon and Gold will compete for Big Ten titles across three days from February 26-28, with streaming available via B1G+ and RunnerSpace.
