Wu and Crousore Lead Minnesota into Top Three After Day One in Bluffton

BLUFFTON, S.C. - Sophomores Chun-Ta Wu and Jack Crousore's strong performances in the Colleton River Collegiate helped move Minnesota into third place after the first two rounds.
The Maroon and Gold finished with a team score of 7-under-par, including a first-round score of 10-under-par (278). The team trails Kentucky and Ohio State on the leaderboard.
Notable Performances:
Wu led the team with a score of 5-under-par through the first 36 holes of golf. His first-round score of 7-under-par (65) is his new season low through 18 holes, as he collected seven of his nine birdies during this round. He sits in a tie for fourth place among all golfers.
Crousore, the Bluffton native, returned to his hometown to finish the first two rounds with a score of 4-under-par, tying him for seventh among the field. He recorded seven of his 11 birdies during the first round, which helped him pencil a score of 3-under-par (69). He picked up his second eagle of the season on the second hole during the second round.
Senior Jack Wetzel and freshman Joe Honsa each recorded scores of 2-over-par on the day, placing them in a tie for 36th overall. Each golfer collected scores of 1-over-par (73) in the first and second rounds. Wetzel tallied four birdies, while Honsa finished with five.
Senior Cormac Sharpe concluded the day with a mark of 3-over-par, highlighted by his first-round score of 1-under-par (71). He gathered five birdies Sunday, finishing tied for 42nd place.
Freshman Torger Ohe carded a score of 14-over-par as an individual. He registered a score of 1-over-par (73) during the first round, picking up two birdies in the front nine.
