Maroon and Gold Place 10th at Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The University of Minnesota men's golf team concluded the final round of the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate Tuesday, placing 10th.
The Golden Gophers finished with an overall score of 8-over-par (872), including a third-round score of 3-over-par (291).
Marquette finished first in the team competition with a score of 21-under-par. Individually, Emil Riegger of Maryland carded the best mark of 10-under-par among the field.
Notable Performances:
Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu and freshman Torger Ohe led the team with a score of 1-under-par (215), tying for 22nd place. Wu shot 1-over-par (73) in the final round, collecting seven birdies throughout the two-day event. He has finished under par in six of his last seven tournaments, including five straight. Ohe recorded a third-round score of 1-under-par (71) with three birdies, adding to his total of seven during the 54-hole event.
Senior Cormac Sharpe ended the tournament with a third-round score of 1-over-par (73), finishing 7-over-par (223). He gathered six of his 14 birdies in the final round, helping him tie for 55th among all golfers.
Sophomore Jack Crousore penciled an overall score of 8-over-par (224), tallying seven birdies. He registered a final-round score of 3-over-par (75), tying for 60th place.
Freshman Joe Honsa matched Crousore's final mark of 8-over-par (224), concluding the event with a third-round score of 2-over-par (74). He picked up 10 birdies through 54 holes of golf.
Senior Jack Wetzel shot even (72) during the final round, finishing with an overall score of 1-over-par (217) as an individual. He matched Sharpe's total of 14 birdies, tying the most by a Gopher during this event.
Sophomore Ryan Stendahl carded a third-round score of 12-over-par (84), finishing 16-over-par (232) with two birdies as an individual.

The Gophers will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on April 11-12. The two-day tournament will be held at the Columbus Country Club and hosted by Ohio State.
