MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – University of Minnesota sophomore Joe Polyak has been named a CSC Academic All American second team honoree, as announced by the College Sports Communicators today.
The 2025-26 Academic All-American Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
This marks Polyak's first CSC Academic All American nomination of his career after being named a 2025 CSCAA Spring Scholar All American and a 2025-26 Academic All Big Ten honoree.
To be considered for a CSC Academic All-America Team, nominees must meet the following criteria:
-
A student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
-
A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
-
Eligible individuals need to compete in four competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet.
Nominations are limited to four student-athletes per institution for both men's and women's teams. Student-athletes who are nominated are then evaluated by a sub-committee to determine if they can advance to the Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America nominees are then voted on by the CSC members.
