MINNEAPOLIS – Head coach Boom May and the University of Minnesota women's hockey program have announced the addition of rising junior Lauren Goldsworthy for the 2026-27 season.

"Lauren is a consistent and dependable defender who brings stability to our blue line with strong positioning, passing, and decision making skills," said Coach May. "She is a competitor who wants to win and places high value on the defensive side of the puck. We are excited to see her in Maroon and Gold next fall."

A defender from Minnetonka, Minn., Goldsworthy will join the Gophers from Minnesota State, where she appeared in 75 career games over two seasons. She totaled 17 points (8g-9a) with 83 shots on goal while adding 60 blocked shots for the Mavericks.

During her sophomore campaign in 2025-26, Goldsworthy skated in 38 games, recording 12 points on seven goals and five assists. She fired 63 shots on goal and blocked 48 shots, highlighted by a two-goal performance against RPI on Sept. 19. She also earned WCHA Scholar-Athlete honors and was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team.

As a freshman in 2024-25, Goldsworthy played in 37 games, tallying five points (1g-4a) with 20 shots on goal and 12 blocked shots. She made her collegiate debut against LIU on Oct. 4 and scored her first career goal at Lindenwood on Jan. 4.

Prior to her collegiate career, Goldsworthy competed at Minnetonka High School, where she earned All-Lake Conference honors and helped lead her team to three state tournament appearances, including a runner-up finish as a sophomore. She totaled 33 points (8g-25a) as a junior and participated in the 2023 USA Hockey U18 Women's National Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y.
