McCauley Advances to NCAA National Championship

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Minnesota's Isabella McCauley and Luisamariana Mesones finished play at the 2026 NCAA Women's Golf Ann Arbor Regional Wednesday.

McCauley secured a fourth-place finish in the competition after carding a 2-under-par 69 in round three. She tallied four birdies during the last 18 holes of the competition. McCauley totaled a tournament score of 210 (-3) to close out her final NCAA Regional appearance. The senior will advance to the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships May 22-27.

"Bella played practically flawless golf the last two days," said head coach Matt Higgins. "This is the third championship in four years for her. I know she is really excited to get back to La Costa and represent the Gophers!"

Mesones closed out the regional tournament in 23rd place with a tournament score of 219 (+6). She closed out her junior season with a 4-over-par 75 in the final round at regionals.

"Mariana capped off a great year here in Ann Arbor," Higgins said. "I'm really proud of her and I know she is super motivated going into next year."

The top five teams advancing to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships include No. 2 USC, No. 29 Ohio State, No. 10 Duke, and No. 32 Northwestern, No. 48 Texas Tech. The top two individuals not on advancing teams that will compete in the national championship are Minnesota's Isabella McCauley and Ebba Nordstedt of Kansas.

The 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships are set for May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
