Wu and Wetzel Earn B1G Postseason Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu was named to the All-Big Ten Conference Second Team, while senior Jack Wetzel earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, the conference announced Wednesday.
Wu earned his first All-Big Ten selection as a member of the Maroon and Gold. He competed in all 12 tournaments during the season, leading the team in six events. The sophomore accumulated three top-10 finishes and five top-20 results, including his first tournament title at The Johnnie-O (Mar. 9-10). Recently, he tied for ninth at the Big Ten Championships (May 1-3) with a score of 1-under-par (209).
Wu recorded career-best accolades at The Johnnie-O (Mar. 9-10) with an overall score of 18-under-par (216) and round score of 8-under-par (64) during the first 18 holes, helping him earn Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors.
Wetzel collected his second-consecutive Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award. The Edina, Minn., native participated in 10 events throughout his senior campaign. He gathered a top-10 tournament finish at the Marquette Intercollegiate (Oct. 5-7, 2025) with a score of 5-over-par (221), earning a career-best eighth place.
The senior concluded his collegiate career with 26 tournament appearances. He shot 11 rounds under par, recording an 18-hole-best score of 4-under-par (66) during the second round of the MacDonald Cup (Sept. 25, 2022). He carded a career-best, 54-hole score of 5-under-par (211) twice, most recently at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 19-20, 2025). Other accomplishments throughout his four-year career include the Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar (2025) and Academic All-Big Ten (2024, 2025).
The Gophers await today's NCAA men's golf regional selection show to determine if any players will advance in the postseason. The show will air on the Golf Channel at 1:00 p.m. CT.
