2016 Cross Country • Redshirt Sophomore Season: Named Academic All-Big Ten honoree • ran in six meets this season • finished among Minnesota’s top eight runners at all six meets, including four top-five finishes • ran a season-best 6K time of 21:20.6 as the fourth Gopher in 52nd place overall at the NCAA Midwest Regional • ran a season-best 5K time of 17:56.5 at the Notre Dame Invitational • placed 42nd overall as the fifth Gopher at the Big Ten Championship (22:20.7) • ended the season ranked 36th on Minnesota’s all-time top-50 6K performers list (21:20.6).

2017 Indoor • Redshirt Sophomore Season: Ran four races • ran a career-best 9:59.48 in the 3,000m at the Minnesota-Wisconsin Dual • ran a career-best 16:47.68 in the 5,000m at the Meyo Invite • placed fourth in the mile (5:04.58) at the Minnesota Open • finished 21st in the 5,000m (17:05.21) at the Big Ten Championship.

2017 Outdoor • Redshirt Sophomore Season: Named USTFCCCA All-Academic and Academic All-Big Ten honoree • ran seven races • ran career-best times in the 1,500m (4:35.10), 5,000m (16:59.00), and 10,000m (34:17.74) • NCAA West Prelim qualifier in 10,000m, placing 14th in 35:16.38 • ran a career-best 34:17.74 to place seventh in the 10,000m at the Big Ten Championship and move into seventh among all-time Gophers in the 10,000m • ran the 5,000m at the Big Ten Championship but did not finish • ran a career-best 4:35.10 in the 1,500m at the Sun Angel Classic • ran a career-best 16:59.00 as 5,000m runner-up at the Kansas Relays Quadrangular • ran second on sixth-place 4x1600m relay (19:40.84) at the Drake Relays.

2016 Indoor • Redshirt Freshman Season: Competed in five races • placed fifth in the mile in a career-best 4:59.36 at the Parents Day Invite • finished eighth in the 3,000m in a career-best 10:00.42 at the Jack Johnson Classic • ran a career-best 17:19.50 in the 5,000m at the ISU Classic.

2016 Outdoor • Redshirt Freshman Season: Ran five races • placed ninth in the 10,000m in a career-best 35:16.48 in Big Ten Championship debut • finished sixth in the 1,500m in a career-best 4:39.83 at the Kip Janvrin Open • ran a career-best 17:07.11 in the 5,000m at the Virginia Challenge.

2014 Cross Country • Freshman Season: Ran six races • finished as the overall runner-up at the Oz Memorial, racing unattached (22:32.7) • made her Gopher debut at the BYU Autumn Classic three-mile, finishing 16th overall and seventh on the team in 18:43.6 • finished fourth on the team at the Griak Invitational in 22:25.2 • finished sixth for the Gophers and eighth overall at the SDSU Classic 5K in 18:14.54 • led the Gophers in the open race at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, running a season-best 21:40 for 22nd place overall • finished eighth for Minnesota at the Big Ten Championships in 22:07.8 for 86th overall • named an alternate for the NCAA Midwest Regional and NCAA Championships.

2015 Track & Field • Freshman Season: Competed unattached during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.

High School: A 2014 graduate of East Ridge High School • 11-time letterwinner in cross country (six) and track & field (five) • two-time all-state and five-time All-Suburban East Conference honoree in cross country • finished 21st at the 2013 Minnesota Class AA state cross country championship to lead East Ridge to a state runner-up team finish • 2013 and 2011 Suburban East Conference cross country champion • two-time Minnesota Class AA state track & field championship participant in the 4x800m relay, taking 14th as a junior and fourth as a senior • three-time All-Suburban East Conference honoree in track & field • 2011 Suburban East Conference champion in the 3,200m • holds East Ridge school records in the 4K (13:58), mile (5:13), two-mile (10:57), and 4x800m relay (9:22) • placed 37th at 2013 Nike Cross Nationals in 18:15.3 • academic all-state honoree.

Personal: Born June 12, 1996 • daughter of Laura and Lloyd Ness • has one older brother, Ryan, who ran cross country and track at Minnesota State • father ran cross country and track at Minnesota from 1980-82 • major is retail merchandising • high school teammates with current Gopher teammates Emily Betz and Olivia Hummel.
