When Barbara Drake Lindgren closed her career as a Golden Gopher softball player, she left a flock of records, ranked in the top five in six all-time offensive categories.
She was first in doubles (39), second in hits (155), second in total bases (221), third in runs (85), fourth in at-bats (516) and fifth in RBI (71). She was named to the NCAA’s All-Midwest Region Team in 1984, and the NCAA All-Mideast Region Team in 1986.
During her junior season, Drake Lindgren was Big Ten Conference MVP, leading the conference in batting with a .408 average. She earned Big Ten Player of the Week in four out of six weeks of play. As a pitcher she had a 1.06 earned run average with 15 wins, eight of them shut-outs.
The two-time team MVP was also a two-time All-American, and was inducted into the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame in 1992.
