Keith Fahnhorst - M Club Hall of Fame

Keith Fahnhorst
Football, 1971-73
HOF Class of 2000

St. Cloud native Keith Fahnhorst starred as a tight end for the football Gophers from 1971 to 1973, earning All-Big Ten honors his final year, when he led the team in receptions.

Drafted in the second round by the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, the 6-6 Fahnhorst converted to playing offensive tackle and played with them for 13 seasons, 1974 to 1987. He protected Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana and anchored one of the best offensive lines in NFL history.

Fahnhorst played in one Pro Bowl, and started at right tackle in Super Bowls XVI and XIX, both of them 49er wins.
