A 1928 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Physical Education, Charlotte Fosburg worked for the Minneapolis Park Board from 1927 to 1972, logging more than 75,000 hours of service to a cause near and dear to her heart.
Among her daily responsibilities, Fosburg was in charge of programming of women’s sports, including bowling, golf, basketball and volleyball. She joined the Minneapolis Hiking Club in 1929 and became its entertainment chairperson the next year. She became the organization's executive director in 1957.
