Erica Killewald was goaltender for the first four years of Minnesota women’s hockey. After an 18-win freshman season in which her five shutouts tied for second in the nation, Killewald led the Gophers to third place at the 1999 AWCHA National Championship and earned all-tournament honors.

In her sophomore season, Killewald held opponents to two or fewer goals in 23 of her 26 starts and led the nation in goals against average (1.24) and save percentage (.947). She was named the team’s most improved and most valuable player.

Minnesota won its first AWCHA national title in 1999-2000, after Killewald stopped 74 of 78 shots in the national tournament and earned MVP honors. Her 51 saves in a 2-2 tie at archrival Minnesota Duluth set a school record.

Killewald led the Gophers to their first WCHA regular season crown in 2000-01, posting a 19-8-2 record and leading the conference in goals-against average (2.12) and save percentage (.914) to earn First Team All-WCHA honors. Career record? 73-23-9.

A two-time member of the WCHA All-Academic Team, Killewald earned a degree in kinesiology.
