In 1964, Golden Gophers wrestling team captain Lew Kennedy posted a perfect record of 25 wins, no losses.
That capped a career in which he was an All-American at 130 pounds in both 1962 and 1963. He was also Big Ten champion in 1963 and 1964, after finishing second in 1962, and was invited to the Olympic tryouts.
Kennedy was inducted into the Minnesota Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1995.
