Harvey Mackay
Honoree
HOF Class of 1992

Best-selling author and business mogul Harvey Mackay played golf for the Gophers from 1953-54, and has been a school booster ever since.

Mackay attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Program, and then purchased a small, failing company in 1959 which he grew into a $100 million business employing over 600 people. The firm, one of the nation’s major envelope manufacturers, is now known as the Mackay Envelope Company.

A New York Times best-selling author, Mackay has written books that have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide in 37 languages and in 80 countries. Mackay is also a nationally syndicated newspaper columnist, master marketer, promoter, networker, business speaker and college lecturer.

Few individuals equal Mackay’s lifetime contributions to the Gophers, in time and resources.
