Murray McLachlan

Goaltender for the Gophers from 1968 through 1970 under Coach Glen Sonmor, Murray McLachlan was the team’s MVP all three years.
He earned All-America status as the nation’s top goalie in 1970, the season in which he led Minnesota to the WCHA championship.
In the 1967-68 season he had been named WCHA Rookie of the Year, and in each of the next two seasons he was the conference’s Player of the Year.
McLachlan closed his career third among Gopher goalies in saves (2,480), third in saves percentage (.910) and fourth in shutouts (4). He played professionally for two years with the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and the CHL’s Tulsa Oilers.
