Baseball, 1926-28
Men’s Basketball, 1926-28
One of just a handful of Golden Gopher three-sport stars, Malvin Nydahl was one of his day’s top athletes.
“Mally” was so well respected by his coaches and peers that he was named captain of both the baseball and basketball teams. And on the football field, he was a star fullback and quarterback. He received the Big Ten Conference Medal of Honor in 1928, as the league’s top student-athlete in athletic and scholastic achievement.
Nydahl later played NFL football with Minneapolis and Frankford, from 1929 through 1931.
