Bob Peterson
Distinguished Service Award
HOF Class of 2005
Bob Peterson retired from the University of Minnesota in 1994, after serving as men’s sports information director for 18 years.
“BP” routinely went above and beyond the call of duty to publicize and help promote Gopher men’s teams, student- athletes, coaches and staff.
He served as president of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in 1977-78, and received his profession’s ultimate honor when selected by his peers for the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in 1983.
In 1997, Peterson was honored at the All-American Football Foundation’s Banquet of Champions, along with U of M coach Murray Warmath, and former Gopher greats Bronko Nagurski and George Franck.
