Catcher Ron Wojciak was a first-team All-Big Ten selection and third-team All-American.
His junior year stats included a .300 batting average, 33 hits, 22 runs and 16 RBI. Despite a rough 3-8 start in that 1964 season, the Gophers led by Wojciak forged an 11-game winning stream on their way to the Big Ten Conference title.
Minnesota then went to the College World Series, where Wojciak batted over .400 to help the Gophers to their third NCAA national championship. He was named to the All-College World Series Team.
