General Membership
Earning a Varsity letter during a collegiate career as a student-athlete, manager, or through years of service as an Honorary “M” recipient at the University of Minnesota equals admission into the “M” Club. While there are different levels of financial support within the “M” Club, ALL letterwinners are “M” Club members and will have the opportunity to engage with the athletic department and attend “M” Club events. We aim to provide specific opportunities to meet the needs of every member of the “M” Club in every stage of life.
Rookies
For letterwinners that have recently graduated, the "M" Club will be providing assistance during the transition after collegiate athletics. The "M" Club will focus on career preparation, identity recognition, and personal brand formation to prepare letterwinners for their life after sport. These “M” Club members are between the ages 21-26.
Young Professionals
In the next stage, the “M” Club wants to continue to assist letterwinners in building their network and continuing their connection to the Gopher Athletic department. The "M" Club will focus on providing access to exclusive networking events, seminars, and Happy Hour socials in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.
Legacy Members
As letterwinners enter the later years of life, the “M” Club wants to encourage them to stay connected to Golden Gopher Athletics. Our promise to all letterwinners is to provide opportunities to get involved and give back. We want letterwinners to bring experience and knowledge to our mentorship programs for current student-athletes, support teams by attending competitions, and give back by financially supporting the “M” Club.
Below are numerous ways that ALL letterwinners are able to get involved:
Attend sport-specific Alumni Reunions or Championship Celebrations
Visit the “M” Club Room inside Huntington Bank Stadium on Gopher Football game day
Participate in the “M” Club Annual Golf Tournament
Attend the “M” Club Hall of Fame Ceremony
Get involved with the W.I.L.L. program that focuses on professional development for female student-athletes
Bring your company or volunteer at Pro Day (Student-Athlete Career Fair)
