Did you Know? Northwoods League History with Gophers
  • Minnesota had NWL Player of the Night honors on back-to-back nights (July 18th and July 19th) with Stanke and Ireland honored, but they also have won both the Player & Pitcher of the Night honors dating back to June 10th, 2015 with Toby Anderson (Duluth Huskies) winning Pitcher of the Night and Alex Boxwell (Waterloo Bucks) winning Player of the Night
  • Bubba Horton & Jack Wassel won the Northwoods League Championship in 2018 for the Fond du lac Dock Spiders
  • Jake Stevenson & Jackson Rose won the Northwoods League Championship in 2017 for the St Cloud Rox
  • Micah Coffey won the Northwoods League Championship in 2015 with the Kenosha Kingfish
  • Bobby Juan won the Northwoods League Championship in 2012 with the Lacrosse Loggers
  • The Gophers hold the record for most players selected (7) to the MLB Dreams Showcase in a single year in 2015, and the most overall players selected in the history of the event which started in 2013 with (21) players selected in 7 years of the event
  • Minnesota set a record in back-to-back-to-back summers placing (18) Gophers in the Northwoods League in 2017, (20) in 2016 and a league-record (24) players in the Northwoods League in 2015
  • The Gophers have annually placed their top high school seniors in the Northwoods League starting with Eddie Estrada (Willmar Stingers) in 2015. Jack Wassel (Rockford Rivets) in 2016, Danny Kapala (Waterloo Bucks) in 2017, Noah DeLuga (Rockford Rivets) and Cody Kelly (St Cloud Rox) in 2020 while George Klassen (Lakeshore Chinooks) would have been the third high senior signed with Northwoods League, but Lakeshore canceled their season in June
  • Packy Casey & Brandon Hunt coached together for the Waterloo Bucks in 2013 and 2014, where they set a Northwoods League record with 51 wins in 2013 and a franchise record of 97 wins in 2 years, Casey was named the Northwoods League Coach of the Year in 2013
  • Toby Hanson set a franchise record 22-game hitting streak for the Mankato Moondogs, posting a league best .442 average (53x120) with 14 doubles and 27 RBI, Hanson hit safely in 27-of-29 games played
  • Nate Hanson (Mankato Moondogs) was the 2007 Northwoods League All Star Game MVP, and won the league batting crown that same year
  • Andy Henkemeyer (St Cloud Rox) was a 2-time Northwoods League All Star and was St Cloud team MVP in 2011
  • Robb Quinlan (St Cloud River Bats) was the Northwoods League MVP in 1998 and has the highest career batting average in league history (.355). Quinlan was named to the Northwoods League All-Decade Team in 2004
  • Six of the last 8 Gophers to reach the Major League level all played in the Northwoods League. Robb Quinlan (St Cloud River Bats), Jack Hannahan (Mankato Mashers), Cole DeVries (Mankato Moondogs), John Gaub (St Cloud River Bats), DJ Snelten (Rochester Honkers), and Ben Meyer (St Cloud Rox) while 11 current professional Gophers all played in the league which include Tom Windle (Madison Mallards), Dan Motl (Willmar Stingers), Nick Lackney (Willmar Stingers), Eli Wilson (Willmar Stingers), Terrin Vavra (Duluth Huskies), Micah Coffey (Kenosha Kingfish), Jake Stevenson (St Cloud Rox), Jackson Rose (St Cloud Rox), Brian Glowicki (St Cloud Rox), Lucas Gibreath (St Cloud Rox) and Dalton Sawyer (St Cloud Rox).
