BEFORE MINNESOTA: Native of Polk City, Iowa and graduate of North Polk High School · a top ten right-handed pitcher in Iowa and top 25 player overall, Cook posted a 1.99 ERA as a sophomore and improved to a 1.05 ERA as a junior · as a junior he posted a 8-2 record with 103 strikeouts through 66.2 innings to help North Polk to a State Runner-Up title · he allowed just 10 earned runs and only 13 walks · Perfect Game ranks him as the No. 7 RHP in Iowa and No. 22 player overall.
PERSONAL: Native of Polk City, Iowa · son of Christine and Ryan Cook, has three siblings, Baily, Alysen, and Harrison · Baily played college softball ath Marshalltown Community College · Hunter plans on majoring in Sport Management at the University of Minnesota.
WHY MINNESOTA: "Being an Iowa guy I would've never envisioned myself wearing maroon and gold, but I'm super pumped to say I'll be a Gopher., reasons like the campus, coaches, community, facilities, and success are why I want to be a part of the family. I have so many great things to discover and I can't wait to spend my college academic and baseball career at Minnesota."
