WHY MINNESOTA: "I became interested in the University of Minnesota because my high school coach, Brent Gates, played for the Gophers before going pro. I quickly grew a relationship with the coaching staff. They spoke to me about more than just baseball. They cared about who I am as a person and who I become as a man. I began feeling like I have uncles in Minnesota and the decision became very easy for me. I committed as a high school sophomore and have only deepened my love for the Gophers since."
