2014 ? SENIOR SEASON: Started all 13 games at safety ? second on the team with 83 tackles ? made 3.5 tackles-for-loss ? intercepted two pases, forced two fumbles and broke up two passes ? Minnesota's Big Ten sportsmanship honoree ? Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Broke up one pass and made two tackles against Eastern Illinois ? notched three tackles against Middle Tennessee and four tackles at TCU ? tallied six tackles against San Jose State ? made four tackles at Michigan and nine against Northwestern ? intercepted two passes to start and end the game against Purdue: returned a pick 27 yards on the Boilermakers' first offensive play, and picked off another on their last offensive play ? also made six tackles against Purdue and was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 20) ? notched eight tackles at Illinois ? recorded a team-high nine tackles (five solo) and forced a fumble against Iowa ? led the Gophers with 10 tackles (six solo), including one for a loss, against Ohio State ? made four tackles and forced a fumble at Nebraska ? recorded a season-high 12 tackles (nine solo) at Wisconsin, including 2.0 for a loss ? made six tackles (.5 tackle-for-loss) and broke up one pass against Missouri.

JUNIOR SEASON: Played in all 13 games and started 11 at safety ? led team in tackles with 79 and tied for team lead in solo tackles with 52 ? notched two tackles-for-loss and made one interception ? forced one fumble and recovered two fumbles ? received the school's Richard 'Pinky' McNamara Student-Athlete Achievement Award (given to an individual who has inspired all by making an extraordinary effort to succeed despite difficult circumstances, persevering during a time of tremendous adversity and/or overcoming a great challenge) and was one of five NCAA student-athletes to receive the Wilma Rudolph Student Athlete Achievement Award (honors student athletes who have overcome great personal, academic, and/or emotional odds to achieve academic success while participating in intercollegiate athletics). Game-by-Game: Made his Minnesota debut at UNLV and had two tackles and a pass breakup ? made four tackles against New Hampshire and two tackles against Western Michigan ? recorded his first career interception against Syracuse and also made two tackles ? interception against Syracuse came on the first play of the game ? totaled five tackles at Iowa ? recorded two tackles vs. Northwestern ? made two tackles and had one pass breakup at Wisconsin ? made five tackles vs. Purdue ? had five tackles and recorded his second career interception vs. Michigan ? contributed on three tackles at Illinois ? saw action at Nebraska ? made four tackles vs. Michigan State ? recorded seven tackles vs. Texas Tech.
2011 ? FRESHMAN SEASON: Appeared in seven games ? recorded 16 tackles (10 solo). Game-by-Game: Played his first career game at Purdue and recorded six tackles ? tallied five tackles vs. Nebraska ? notched two tackles in 22-21 victory against Iowa ? appeared at Michigan State ? had two assisted tackles versus Wisconsin and played at Northwestern ? recorded a solo tackle in 27-7 win against Illinois.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduate of Calipatria High School ? rushed for 1,808 yards and 27 touchdowns on just 157 carries during his senior season ? earned first-team All-Pacific League honors on offense following his senior campaign ? also recorded 41 tackles, with 34 solo stops, three sacks and four interceptions from his defensive back position in 2010 ? rushed for 1,446 yards with 14 scores as a junior, while also making 45 tackles and two interceptions ? coached by David Shaw.
