    Operations Assistant
Keith Jordan is in his fourth year at Minnesota and is currently serving as the team's acting linebacker coach. Jordan is filling in for linebacker coach Mike Sherels, who is recovering from some unexpected surgeries that took place in August 2016.

Jordan, who is in his 35th year of working in football, most recently served as the Special Teams Quality Control assistant for the Gophers. In those duties he organized and ran all facets of opponent special teams scouting and handled all other day-to-day operations for special teams. Prior to his quality control role, Jordan was an operations assistant at Minnesota for three seasons.

Jordan came to Minnesota from Fort Scott Community College where he served as the Defensive Coordinator. In addition to leading the defense, he also was the Recruiting Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator, in what was his second stint with the Greyhounds. Jordan was the Defensive Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in his first stop at Fort Scott.

His first Fort Scott venture was sandwiched between two coaching stints at Northern Michigan University where he served as the Defensive Coordinator and also coached Defensive backs. During his first stop at Northern, his team faced Coach Claeys who was the defensive line coach at Saginaw Valley State in the same conference.

Jordan has also spent time at Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State) and Southwest Baptist University. He also spent 17 years working in high school football, which included nine years as a head coach.

Jordan and his wife Jacque, who works at Prior Lake High School, have been married for more than 30 years. The couple has two grown children. Their daughter, Marisa Compton, is a volleyball coach at Neosho County Community College. Their son, Owen, played quarterback at Lincoln University and is now a graduate assistant at Kansas State.Â
