HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Roseville Area High School • quarterbacked the Raiders (9-3) to their first state semifinal appearance as a senior • named first team All-State • 2013 Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year • 2013 Star Tribune Metro Football Player of the Year and Pioneer Press Player of the Year • passed for 326 yards in Roseville's Class 6A quarterfinal win against Maple Grove at TCF Bank Stadium • completed 61 percent of his passes for a Class 6A-leading 3,171 yards and 35 touchdowns with just four interceptions as a senior • rushed for 347 yards and four scores • coached by former North Dakota State quarterback Chris Simdorn (led the Bison to NCAA Division II championships in 1989 and 1990) • also lettered in basketball and track and field.
