Marcus Hendrickson joined the Minnesota football staff as director of player personnel in January 2017. 

Hendrickson, who manages recruiting operations for the Gophers, came to Minnesota from Western Michigan where he was the assistant director of recruiting for one season. 

From 2014-15, Hendrickson was a Midwest Area Scout for the Miami Dolphins and was responsible for a 10-state territory. 

Prior to his time with the Dolphins, he worked with the Cleveland Browns from 2009-14. Hendrickson was a scouting intern with the Browns in 2009 for a few months before being named a player personnel assistant from 2009-12. From 2012-14, he was an area scout and evaluated players from six states. 

Hendrickson was a four-year letterman at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and started three years at linebacker. He was named defensive most valuable player as a junior and senior and served as team captain during his final season. 

His brother, Milt, is a front office executive for the Green Bay Packers.

Hendrickson and his wife, Mateya, were married in 2020 and have one son (Milton).
