Fourteen Gophers Named to Hampshire Honor Society

Minnesota ranks third overall in the FBS with 109 all-time honorees.
Fourteen members of the Gopher football team have been announced as members of the National Football Foundation's (NFF) 2026 Hampshire Honor Society.
Maverick Baranowski, Drew Biber, Frank Bierman, Deven Eastern, Lucas Finnessy, Jameson Geers, Darius Green, Derik LeCaptain, Jalen Logan-Redding, Marcellus Marshall, Jai'Onte' McMillan, Tony Nelson, Aluma Nkele and Dylan Ray all received the recognition.
Finnessy, LeCaptain and Logan-Redding were honored for the second consecutive year.
To qualify for the Hampshire Honor Society, a student-athlete must be a senior who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2025, or be a graduated player or grad transfer who has already earned a bachelor's degree and competed in the 2025 season (even if the player has remaining eligibility and may return to play next season). In addition, they must have attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 and have been a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2025 season.
Minnesota is also just one of 23 colleges and universities that have had at least one player in all 20 years of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society (2007-26). The other schools are BYU, Brown, Bucknell, Columbia, Dartmouth, Dayton, Iowa, Johns Hopkins (Md.), Kentucky, Lafayette, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Penn State, Redlands (Calif.), Saint John's (Minn.), SMU, South Dakota State, Wayne State (Mich.), West Virginia, Wingate (N.C.), Yale and Youngstown State.
