2015 - SOPHOMORE SEASON: Played in five games and saw action at both quarterback and receiver - moved to receiver full-time during the season - rushed four times for eight yards and caught one pass for four yards - Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Competed as a reserve at quarterback against TCU and rushed one time for three yards - rushed three times at quarterback for five yards at Colorado State and also played on special teams - played on special teams and saw action at receiver against Ohio and at Northwestern, but did not record any statistics - caught the first pass of his career, a four-yard reception from Demry Croft at Purdue.

2014 - FRESHMAN SEASON:
Played in five games and started one - completed four passes for 37 yards and one touchdown - rushed 36 times for 235 yards and one touchdown - Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Rushed five times for 21 yards and completed his only pass for 12 yards as he made his Minnesota and collegiate debut against Eastern Illinois - rushed one time for 2 yards against Middle Tennessee - tossed his first career touchdown (12-yard pass to Maxx Williams) and rushed seven times for 33 yards at TCU - made his first career start against San Jose State and rushed 18 times for 161 yards (third most ever by a Gopher quarterback) and one touchdown - Big Ten Freshman of the Week (Sept. 22) after his performance against SJSU - rushed five times for 18 yards as a reserve against Iowa.

2013: Redshirted.

HIGH?SCHOOL: Attended Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill. - was a three-year letterwinner - led team to an 11-1 record and conference championships as both a junior and a senior - helped team advance to the state quarterfinals as a junior and senior - named conference and area Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012 - was a first-team all-state selection in 2012 and was recognized as Academic All-State in 2011 and 2012 - named team MVP after a senior season in which he completed 172 of 250 passes (68.8%) for 2,662 yards and 26 touchdowns - threw only four interceptions - also rushed for 1,276 yards and 22 touchdowns - passed for a touchdown in all 12 games and rushed for a score in 10 games - threw for 2,456 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior, while also rushing for 970 yards and 17 scores - handled punting duties as well, averaging 35.65 yards on 17 punts as a senior - coached by Ed Brucker - enrolled at the University of Minnesota in January 2013 and participated in spring practice - earned a three-star ranking from Rivals.com and a two-star ranking from Scout.com - received a three-star ranking and was the No. 38 dual-threat quarterback in the country according to ESPN - listed as the No. 40 prospect in Illinois.
