2021 • SENIOR SEASON: Started all 13 games • completed 149-of-250 passes for 2,044 yards and 10 touchdowns • led a Minnesota offense that averaged 25.46 points per game. Game-by-Game: Completed 14-of-25 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown against Ohio State • passed for 112 yards and two touchdowns against Miami • completed 11 passes for 164 yards at Colorado • started against Bowling Green • threw for 169 yards and one touchdown – the 50th of his career – at Purdue • completed 20-of-24 passes (83.3 percent ranks tied for fourth in school annals since 1980) for 209 yards and two touchdowns against Nebraska, and also set a school record with 16 straight completions (16 straight completions are tied for the third longest streak in a conference game in Big Ten history) • completed 8-of-12 passes for 125 yards against Maryland • rushed for an 18-yard touchdown and completed 12-of-17 passes for 134 yards at Northwestern • rushed for one touchdown and passed for 180 yards against Illinois • completed 14 passes for 183 yards and one touchdown at Iowa • posted his 25th win at Indiana where he completed 70 percent of his passes (14-of-20) for 196 yards and two touchdowns • completed 11-of-16 passes for 199 yards and one touchdown against Wisconsin, as he earned his school record 26th career win • completed 8-of-13 passes for 109 yards in an 18-6 win against West Virginia in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. 

2020 • JUNIOR SEASON: Started all seven games and completed 106 passes for 1,374 yards and seven touchdowns. Game-by-Game: Completed 18 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown against Michigan • completed 10-of-15 passes for 189 yards and one touchdown at Maryland • threw for 216 yards and one touchdown on 17 completions at Illinois and also punted once for 21 yards • completed 16 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown against Iowa • threw for 264 yards on 15 completions against Purdue • rushed for 10 yards and completed 17 passes for 181 yards and one touchdown at Nebraska • threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns at Wisconsin and punted once for 35 yards.  

2019 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: Started all 13 games and set school single-season records for passing yards (3,253) and passing touchdowns (30) • also set school single-season records in completion percentage (66.0%), passing yards per game (250.2), pass efficiency rating (178.7) and touchdown-interception ratio (4.28). Game-by-Game: Threw for 176 yards and one touchdown against South Dakota State and also caught a two-point conversion from Tyler Johnson • completed 16-of-23 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns at Fresno State and also rushed for a 4-yard touchdown in overtime • connected with five different receivers for 19 completions, 289 yards and three touchdowns against Georgia Southern and led the Gophers to fourth-quarter comeback with a 75-yard touchdown drive in the closing minutes of the game • had a career day at Purdue when he set career highs in completions (21), completion percentage (was 21-of-22 for 95.45%), yards (396) and touchdowns (four) • his 95.45 completion percentage is the highest in Big Ten history for any player who attempted more than 15 passes • his 396 yards tied for the seventh most in school history (Bryan Cupito also had 396 against Ohio State in 2005) and are the most for a Gopher since Adam Weber threw for 416 yards (third most in school history) against Michigan State in 2009 • threw for three touchdowns and 155 yards against Illinois • completed eight passes for 128 yards and one touchdown against Nebraska • threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns at Rutgers • completed 12 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns against Maryland and also added 30 yards rushing on five carries • completed 18-of-20 passes, which is 90%, for 339 yards and three touchdowns against Penn State • completed 25-of-36 passes for 368 yards and one touchdown at Iowa • threw four touchdowns and completed 15-of-23 passes for 211 yards at Northwestern, where he also broke Adam Weber’s single-season touchdown record • passed for 296 yards and two touchdowns against Wisconsin and broke Adam Weber’s single-season passing yardage record • tossed two touchdowns and set a school bowl game record with 278 passing yards in a win against Auburn in the Outback Bowl. 

2018 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Played in nine games and started the final six of the season • completed 89-of-152 passes for 1,401 yards (second most ever for a Gopher freshman) and nine touchdowns (tied for third most all-time for a Minnesota freshman with Zack Annexstad). Game-by-Game: Made his Minnesota and collegiate debut against New Mexico State and was 1-of-1 for seven yards • saw action as a reserve against Miami and lone completion went for 28 yards • replaced an injured Zack Annexstad to start the second half at Nebraska and completed 11-of-16 passes for 214 yards • also rushed four times for 35 yards and a touchdown against the Cornhuskers • made his first career start against Indiana and completed 17-of-24 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns • completed a 67-yard touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman with 1:34 left in the game to lift Minnesota to a 38-31 win against the Hoosiers • completed 14-of-27 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns at Illinois • connected on an 86-yard touchdown with Rashod Bateman at Illinois, which was Minnesota’s longest passing play since Asad Abdul-Khaliq threw a school-record 96-yard touchdown to Jared Ellerson at Northwestern on Oct. 4, 2003 • threw for 139 yards and one touchdown on 10 completions against Purdue • completed 19-of-32 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown against Northwestern • connected on 9-of-16 passes for 124 yards and rushed three times for 12 yards in a win at Wisconsin • completed 7-of-13 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns against Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Ryle High School in Union, Ken. where he played as a junior and a senior (played as a freshman and sophomore at Hazard High School in Hazard, Kentucky) before enrolling at Minnesota in January 2017 • wore No. 2 for the Raiders • as a senior, passed for 2,747 yards and 27 touchdowns as team finished with a 12-1 record and reached the 6-A state quarterfinals • rushed for 320 yards and five touchdowns en route to being named a finalist for Kentucky's Mr. Football award • as a junior, threw for 2,674 yards and 21 touchdowns • rushed for 156 yards and two scores • at Hazard, he combined to pass for 4,990 yards and 56 touchdowns as a freshman and sophomore • one of only few Kentucky high school quarterbacks to pass for more than 10,000 yards in his career • consensus three-star recruit according to ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 247 Sports • ESPN and 247 Sports both listed him as the No. 41 recruit at his position • Rivals and 247 Sports ranked him as the No. 5 player in Kentucky, while ESPN had him at No. 7 • Scout tabbed him as the No. 2 quarterback in Kentucky, the No. 8 signal-caller in the Midwest and as the No. 141 prospect in the Midwest • coached by Michael Engler.
