HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Fairmont High School in Fairmont, Minn. • wore No. 11 for the Cardinals • coached by Matt Mahoney • as a senior, averaged more than 200 passing yards per game as he helped lead the Cardinals to the Class AAA State Tournament • named Team MVP • played for the South team in the 49th Annual Minnesota High School All Star Football where he made five tackles and had one pass breakup • as a junior, passed for 944 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed 57 times for 270 yards and three touchdowns • as a sophomore, threw for 1,317 yards and 17 touchdowns • rushed for 510 yards and nine touchdowns • also played baseball and pitched a complete game shutout in the Class AA state championship game to clinch the state title for Fairmont.
