2018-19 Senior Season: Academic All-Big Ten • At the Big Ten Championships, finished eighteenth in the 1650 free (15:18.34). • Took third in the 1000 free (9:23.93) and seventh in the 500 free (4:36.73) against Purdue and Northwestern. • Finished second in the 1000 free (9:15.57) and third in the 500 free (4:30.18) against USC. • Placed first in the 1000 free (9:23.10) and second in the 500 free (4:34.57) at the Hawaii Dual. • Helped the 800 Free relay team place sixth (6:40.31) at the Iowa Invitational. • Finished second in the 1000 free (9:23.82) and third in the 500 free (4:35.88) against Iowa and South Dakota. • Finished second in both the 1650 free (15:51.96) and in the 500 free (4:35.75) at the Florida State Dual. • Placed second in the 1000 free (9:25.63) and first in the 500 free (4:34.53) at the Wisconsin Dual.

2017-18 Junior Season: At the Big Ten Championships, finished twenty-second in the 500-yard free (4:23.64), forty-second in the 200-yard free (1:39.13), and twenty-third in the 1650-yard free (15:31.36). • placed fourth in the 1000-yard free (9:24.64) and third in the 500-yard free (4:35.13) at the Triple Dual against Northwestern and Purdue • finished sixth in the 1650-yard free (15:56.89) and first in the 500-yard free (4:31.27) vs. Denver • took second place in both the 1000-yard free (9:30.20) and in the 500-yard free (4:31.90) against Hawai'i and Drury • finished second in the 500-yard free (4:25.90), sixth in the 200-yard free (1:38.98), and second in the 1650-yard free (15:31.94) at the Minnesota Invitational • took sixth in the 500-yard free (4:31.53) against Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin at the Quad Dual • placed second in the 1000-yard free (9:24.60) and second in the 500-yard free (4:33.14) against Iowa • earned a first place finish in both the 1000-yard free (9:28.06) and the 500-yard free (4:34.62) vs. Florida State.

2016-17 Sophomore Season: Academic All-Big Ten Team • named Most Improved by teammates • improved times in the 500-yard free (4:23.23) and 1650-yard free (15:21.42) at the Big Ten Championships • finished first place with a 4:31.97 in the 500-yard free against North Dakota • earned a first-place finish in the 500-yard free (4:29.66) at the Minnesota Invitational • improved to 15:48.05 in the 1650-yard free at the Minnesota Invitational • earned two first-place finishes at the Jean Freeman Invitational: 500-yard free (4:24.30) and 1650-yard free (15:27.39).

2015-16 Freshman Season: Tallied 17 top-five finishes during the regular season • at the 2016 Big Ten Championships, Plachinski finished 26th in the 1650 free, 34th in the 500 free and 38th in the 200 free • won the 500 free at the 2016 Minnesota Challenge • made his collegiate debut at Florida State highlighted by a second-place finish in the 1000 free. 

High School: Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cedarburg High School • coached by Amit Kaul and Steve Keller • Four-time letterwinner in swimming, also earned a varsity letter in football • four-time First Team All-Conference • four-time First-Team All-State • three-time All-American • also competed for Ozaukee Aquatics club team • holds six Cedarburg HS records • holds Wisconsin state record in the 500-yard freestyle • lists most memorable sports thrill as competing in the 400 freestyle relay at the 2015 Wisconsin State Championships.

Personal: Son of Steve and Sue Plachinski • has three older sisters: Lauren, Emily and Rebecca • enjoys playing sports with friends, cooking and hiking • plans to major in biology.
