Earned Minnesota Mr. Basketball honors as the top player in the state his senior season • selected the Associated Press State Player of the Year and Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year • led his Royals team to the Class 4A state championship • was a consensus national top-50 and four-star prospect, and is the highest rated prospect to join the Gophers since Kris Humphries in 2003 • averaged 19.9 points per game in 2015-16 after missing his junior season due to a knee injury • scored 14.3 points per game as a sophomore • four-year letterwinner under head coach Ken Novak, helping lead team to a combined record of 105-20.

Personal:
Parents are Sheba Coffey and Richard Coffey • has two older sisters, Sydney and Nia, who played college basketball at Marist and Northwestern, respectively • sister Nia was an All-American at Northwestern and currently plays for the WNBA's San Antonio Stars • father was a four-year member of the Gophers basketball team from 1986-90 and went on to play for the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves • lists winning state championship at Hopkins as his biggest sports thrill • major is youth studies.
