Caitlin Mahoney is in her 16th season with the University of Minnesota Men's Basketball Program and her third season as Assistant Director of Operations. From 2006-2014, Mahoney served as the Executive Assistant to the Head Basketball Coach for eight seasons. Prior to joining the basketball staff, Mahoney was an Early Childhood Special Education teacher in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. During her college career, she spent five seasons with the Golden Gopher Basketball office as a student office assistant.
As the Assistant Director of Operations, Mahoney oversees the daily operations of the Golden Gopher basketball office. She coordinates Coach Pitino's schedule, including his travel, media responsibilities and speaking engagements. Mahoney serves as a liaison to the basketball program for the alumni group, booster group, marketing department and several other organizations in which Coach Pitino is an active member. She coordinates purchases and special projects, assists with recruiting, plans annual team and family events, manages the budget, and assists in team travel arrangements and student-athlete welfare.
Mahoney is a 1999 graduate of Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Foundations of Education: Early Childhood in 2004. In 2005, she earned her Master of Education Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.
Mahoney currently resides in Plymouth, Minnesota.
