Spencer Cody has been with the University of Minnesota men's basketball program since August of 2022. Cody began his Gopher tenure as a graduate assistant in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons and was hired full time as Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development in June of 2024.
Cody joins the Gopher staff after playing at Xavier University from 2019-22. During two of those seasons, Cody was with now Minnesota head coach Ben Johnson when he was an assistant coach there. During his Musketeers tenure, Cody received Big EAST Conference Academic Honor Roll honors in 2019, 2020 and 2021. He was also Big EAST All-Academic Team honoree as well as a four-time Dean's List selection Williams College of Business and College of Professional Sciences from Fall of 2018 to Spring of 2022.
Cody earned his bachelor's degree from Xavier in 2022 where he studied sports management. He earned a master's degree in May of 2024 at the University of Minnesota in the same field.
