2025-26 | SOPHOMORE SEASON: Academic All-Big Ten • opened his sophomore campaign with eight points and seven assists vs. Gardner-Webb (11/3) • scored 13 points at Missouri (11.12) • scored 14 points in the win over Chicago State (11.18) • had 13 points, four rebounds and five assists vs. Santa Clara (11.28)  • posted 15 points in the win over No. 22 Indiana (12.3) • scored 13 points and six assists in the Texas Southern win (12.14) • scored 15 points, six assists, three steals and two blocks vs. Campbell (12.21) • record a career-high four threes and tied a career high 18 points in the win at Northwestern (1.3)  • had eight points, six rebounds vs. USC (1.9) • produced 17 points and nine rebounds vs. Wisconsin (1.13) • scored 16 points and four threes at Wisconsin (1.28) • netted six threes and 18 points vs. Maryland (2.8) • posted a team-best 15 points in the win at Oregon (2.17) • added 11 points and six assists in the Rutgers win (2.21) • had 13 points, two blocks and six rebounds in the UCLA win (2.28) • scored 14 points vs. Northwestern (3.8) and added a team-best eight rebounds.

Averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds as a freshman • saw significant time off the bench averaging 24.7 minutes played • ranked sixth on the team in scoring a shot 43.7 from the field and 35.7 from the arc • made his collegiate debut in the Oral Roberts win (11/6) when he scored six points, had two assists and a steal • scored 10 points and played 30 minutes in the Cleveland State win (11/19) • played 32 minutes off the bench and scored six points, had six assists, committed just one turnover in the Central Michigan win (11/25) • had 10 rebounds and five points vs. Wichita State (11/28) • had 11 points, went 4-of-6 from the field and had three steals vs. Wake Forest (11/29) • contributed 31 minutes off the bench in his Big Ten debut vs. Michigan State (12/4) and had five points, three assists and two rebounds • added five points, five rebounds and four assists in the FDU win (12/21) • established a career-high 18 points in the loss to Ohio State (1/6) and played 40 minutes • scored 15 points at Maryland (1/13) • had eight points, three rebounds and an assist at Michigan State (1/28) • came off the bench and scored 12 points and three assists in the win at USC (2/15) • had 10 points, three steals and two assists vs. Penn State (2/22)  • added six points, four assists and five rebounds at Rutgers (3/9). 

PREP: Played for Cherry High School under Jordan Christianson and in the AAU circuit with D1 Minnesota under former Gopher Jonathon Williams • a four-star recruit in both Rivals.com and 247 and is listed as one of the top players in the state of Minnesota • finished as the 98th overall recruit in the class of 2024 and the ninth-top point guard according to 247Sports • led Cherry to three-straight state championship berths, including a state title his senior year and back-to-back Class A semifinals as a junior and sophomore • accumulated 3,318 career points (ranks 10th in Minnesota history), 1,259 rebounds, 951 assists and 431 steals with Cherry High School • was also a part of 110 section wins and three section titles • Mr. Basketball Top Five finalist • two-time Duluth News Tribune All-Area Player of the Year in 2024 and 2023 • as a senior, led Cherry in points (18.2) and rebounds (7.8) • averaged 21 points, 8.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.6 steals his junior year • multiple all-state selection • guided Cherry to its first Class A tournament appearance in 25 years and a school record 27 wins in 2022 • as a sophomore, led Cherry when he averaged 27 points, 9.5 rebounds, seven steals and three assists per game • three-time state high school all-tournament selection • first individual from Cherry to receive a Division I basketball scholarship offer • a 4.0 student, is also a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and baseball • with D1 Minnesota, Asuma saved his best season as his last in 2023, including a 21-point performance at the Adidas Championship, which garnered him a top-16 performer there.
