Indoor: Second Team All-American. - Won the shot put at the Northwest Open. - Led the Gophers to victory in the Border Battle Duel with Wisconsin after setting a new personal record of 18.98 meters (62-03.25 ft.) in route to winning the shot put crown. - At the Jack Johnson Invitational, won the shot put with a mark of 18.98 meters (62-03.00 ft.). - Finished the indoor season with a strong performance in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships, placing fourteenth. Outdoor: Won the shot put at the Holst Invitational with a throw of 17.69 meters, setting a new meet record. - Finished third in the shot put at the Big Ten Tournament in Nebraska with a mark of 19.54 meters.Â
2015 | JUNIOR SEASON
Indoor: Turned in victories for the Maroon and Gold in the shot put at the Northwest Open, the Wisconsin Duel, and the Jack Johnson Classic. Outdoor: Represented the Golden Gophers with top three finishes at the Baldy Castillo Invitational, the Hamline Invitational, the Carelton Relays, and the Wisconsin Twilight.Â
2014 | SOPHOMORE SEASON
Indoor: At the 2014 Jack Johnson Classic placed 8th in the shot put with a throw of 16.64 meters (54-07.25) - finished 7th in the Bill Bergan Invitational with a throw of 17.15 meters (56-03.25) in the shot put - at the 2014 Gene Glader Classic won the shot put with a throw of 17.23 meters (56-06.50) - finished 5th in the shot put with a throw of 16.48 meters (54-02.50) at the Snowshoe Open. Outdoor: At the 2014 Baldy Castillo Invitational finished tenth in the discus with a throw of 50.40 meters (165-04) - at the Hamline Invitational finished third in the shot put with a mark of 15.74 meters (51-07.75) and fourth in the discus with a throw of 51.63 meters (169-05) - placed 7th in the shot put at the UCSD Triton Invitational with a throw of 16.97 meters (55-08.25) and placed 19th in the discus with a throw of 51.95 meters (170-05) - placed 8th at the Musco Twilight in the shot put with a throw of 16.45 meters (53-11.75) and placed tenth in the discus with a throw of 51.45 meters (168-09) - placed second in the discus at the Mark Messersmith Invite with a toss of 55.73 meters (182-10) - finished 17th in the shot put at the Big Ten Championships with a mark of 16.47 meters (54-00.50) and placed 8th in the discus with a mark of 53.80 meters (176-06).
2013 | FRESHMAN SEASON
Indoor: Competed at the Big Ten Championships in shot put finishing 12th with a throw of 56-06 1/2 (17.23m) - took ninth at the Husker Invitational with a throw of 55-05 (16.89m)- won shot put at the St. Thomas Showcase. Outdoor: Took 14th in shot put at the Big Ten Championships with a throw of 55-04 3/4 (16.87m) - took second at the MAC Invite with throw of 54-05.5(16.80m) - finished ninth at the UCSD Triton Invite.

A 2011 graduate of Red Wing High School - high school coaches were Mike Ehlers, Pete Eberlein, Adam Nelson and Tom Johnson (father)- six-time All-State (three times in shot, three in discus) - four-time All-Conference in shot put - three-time All-Conference in discus - two-time section champion in discus - section champion in shot put - finished fourth in the shot put in his sophomore year and fifth in the discus - took second in the discus and fourth in the shot put in his junior year - state champion in the discus his senior year and second in the shot put - lettered three times in football and four times in track.

Born July 10, 1992 - undecided on major - son of Tom and Malissa Johnson - has four siblings Erick (26), Tina (23), Ben (21) and Grahm (13) - high school coach Mike Ehlers is a former Minnesota Thrower - enjoys playing the guitar, golf, pool and basketball. - Favorite sports memory was winning the state discus title in high school.
