2025 Outdoor Track & Field • Freshman Season: Etched his name onto two Minnesota top 10 all-time lists in first season in Dinkytown, in the 400m and the 4x400m relay... Ran on Minnesota's 4x400m relay team that finished 13th at the NCAA West Regional in a time of 3:06.49... At the LSU Invitational helped clock a 4x400m relay time of 3:06.46, the ninth-fastest mile relay time in school history... Smith's 46.51 at the USATF U20 Championships in June went down as the No. 9 all-time 400m time in school history and the fastest 400m ran by a Gopher since 2021... Scored at the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a member of the 4x400m relay team with a fifth-place performance in a time of 3:06.62... Ran a season-best 200m time of 21.09 (+2.3 m/s) at the USF Alumni Invitational... Also ran at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta, the Florida Relays, the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Beach Invite.

Was the Star Tribune Metro Track Athlete of the Year coming out of high school... Claimed the title after setting the Minnesota state record in the 400m at 46.87 as well as setting an indoor state record in the 400m in 48.73, a time he ran at Minnesota's University Fieldhouse at the Griak Indoor Classic... Went on to win the state outdoor 400m title, was the runner up in the 200m and was fourth in the 100m... After the high school season went on to win the prestigious Brooks PR Invitational in the 400m, clocking a 47.04 in the 400m.
