2025 Outdoor Track & Field • Sixth-Year: Earned the distinction of Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators... Named an Academic All-Big Ten honoree once again... Qualified for the NCAA West Regional in the shot put for the second time with the Golden Gophers... Scored in the hammer throw at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a lifetime best toss of 66.57m (218-5) to finish seventh overall in Eugene, Ore.... Was 10th at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the shot put with a mark of 18.30m (60-0 1/2)... Threw a season-best mark of 19.87m (65-2 1/4) at the Florida Relays to finish second overall... Won the shot put competition at four different meets during the outdoor season which included: Arizona Spring Break Fiesta (19.24m | 63-1 1/2), the USF Alumni Invitational (19.53m | 64-1), the Gary Wilson Invitational (19.33m | 63-5) and the Drake Relays (19.18m | 62-11 1/4)... Ended Gopher career with the No. 4 all-time shot put mark at Minnesota (19.87m | 65-2 1/4) and the No. 10 hammer throw mark all-time at Minnesota (66.57m | 218-5).
2024 Outdoor Track & Field • Graduate Season: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten team... Completed a redshirt season with the Gophers... Competed in one outdoor meet, the Gary Wilson Invitational... Won the Gary Wilson Invite shot put with a throw of 19.69m (64-7 1/4)... Was second at the Gary Wilson Invite in the hammer throw with a throw of 59.52m (195-3)... Tossed a discus throw of 50.26m (164-11) at the Gary Wilson Invitational to finish sixth.
2023 Outdoor Track & Field • Senior Season: Made a positive impact on the Gophers lineup in his first season with the Maroon and Gold, competing in nine outdoor meets... Was named a First Team Academic All-American for his work in the classroom and in the field... Made his official debut in the uniform at the Longhorn Invitational, winning the shot put with a mark of 19.79m which put him at the No. 4 spot all-time at the 'U'... Posted a then-lifetime best in the hammer throw at the USF Bulls Invitational at 62.01m (203-5) to finish sixth... Won the Clyde Hart Classic shot put event with a throw of 18.91m (62-0 1/2)... Was third at the LSU Alumni Gold in the shot put with a mark of 17.69m (61-4)... Won the shot put at the Running on Hope with a throw of 18.78m (61-7 1/2)... Launched a lifetime best hammer throw mark of 63.57m (208-7) to take second in his flight at the Drake Relays... Won the Drake Relays in the shot put with a toss of 19.21m (63-0 1/4)... Competed in the shot put, discus and hammer throw at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships... Finished 15th at the NCAA West Regional in the shot put with a toss of 19.07m (62- 6 3/4).
PRIOR TO MINNESOTA:
Joining the throws group is Isaiah Schafer from Davenport University where he won the NCAA Division II National Championship both indoors and outdoors this past season the shot put with a mark of 19.89m (65-3 1/4). Schafer's throw was the eighth-best throw in Division II history and was paired with his sixth-place finish in the discus event to earn two First Team All-American honors in 2022. In 2021 Schafer was a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American, becoming the first male track and field athlete to earn the distinction.
