2011 Season:

Competed on beam in every meet • Was Minnesota[apos]s top scorer on beam at Denver, where she earned a 9.825 and placed second • Had an average beam score of 9.685 • Competed on floor at 12 of 13 meets, missing one meet with a muscle injury • Earned her personal-best floor score of 9.775 at three meets during the season • Averaged 9.560 on floor • An Academic All-Big Ten award winner.

2008 Season:

Competed on vault and beam in her freshman season • Was in the vault line up five times • Earned her best vault score at Michigan (2/16) with a 9.575 • Compiled an average vault score of 9.515 • Competed on beam eight times • Earned her best beam score, a 9.725, at three meets • Had an average beam score of 9.513 • Missed the last three meets of the season with an ankle injury.

High School/Club:

Trained at the Elite Gymnastics Academy under coach Adriana Porte • Brings a wealth of experience to Minnesota after appearing in numerous national and international competitions • Competed at the 2006 World Cup in Lyon, France, and earned a 15th-place finish in the floor exercise • Won the all around title at the 2005 Mexican National Championship • Competed at the 2005 American Cup, where she finished ninth on beam • Finished eighth on the floor at the 2004 Panamericano de Especialidades in Maracaibo, Venezuela.

Personal:

A 2006 graduate of Universidad Regiomontana, where she was honored for excellence in the classroom • Trained with the same club coach as former Gopher All-American Judy Cavazos (1997-2000) • Majoring in Marketing and Human Resources & Industrial Relations • Daughter of Javier Balboa and Bella Gonzalez • Has an older sister, Bella (21), and a younger brother, Javier (16).
