'U' Announces 2026 Schedule

Arkansas, Michigan, MSU and UCLA highlight home slate
MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota gymnastics program has announced its 2026 schedule. Their upcoming slate features six home dates, five away meets and the Big Ten Championships
"We couldn't be more excited for this year's schedule," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "We have a tremendous balance of strong non-conference as well as Big Ten opponents that will test us throughout the season. In addition, our fans will be treated to one of our best home schedules in program history with six home meets, including hosting one of the Big 4 competitions. We can't wait for our fans to follow us each and every week."
Prior to the official start of the season, Minnesota will have an intrasquad competition at Maturi Pavilion on Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m., which is free and open to the public.
Minnesota will start its 2026 season on the road at Utah, a program that finished fourth nationally in 2025 and made the final day of nationals. The meet will take place on Friday, Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. CT. Iowa will also be competing in the tri-meet.
To open non-conference competition at Maturi Pavilion, the Gophers will host Arkansas at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. The Razorbacks finished 12th nationally last season, making the NCAA Regional Finals.
The Big Ten home opener will come on Saturday, Jan. 17 as the 'U' hosts Michigan at 4 p.m. They'll then go to Nebraska for their Big Ten road opener on Saturday, Jan. 24. The meet will begin at 3 p.m. CT and Big Ten Network will televise.
Head coach Jenny Hansen and company will come back home to host Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 31. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. After that, the UCLA Bruins will come to Maturi Pavilion for the first time as a Big Ten opponent. The meet is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Following the UCLA meet, the Gophers will hit the road for consecutive meets at Penn State on Saturday, Feb. 14 (1 p.m. CT) and Washington on Saturday, Feb. 21 (5 p.m. CT).
To close Big Ten play, the 'U' is set to host a Big 4 meet on Sunday, March 1 at 3 p.m. Illinois, Michigan State and Rutgers will be here for the competition. The regular season is set to conclude with a road meet at North Carolina on Friday, March 6 (5:45 p.m. CT) and the senior day quad on Sunday, March 15 (2 p.m.) against Northern Illinois and Illinois.
Postseason action will begin with the 2026 Big Ten Championships from March 20-21. NCAA Regionals will begin on April 1 while the NCAA Championships go from April 16-18 in Fort Worth, Texas. This year's regional sites are Baton Rouge, La. (LSU), Corvallis, Ore. (Oregon State), Lexington, Ky. (Kentucky) and Tempe, Ariz. (Arizona State).
Overall, Minnesota's schedule features seven matchups against opponents that finished in the WCGA top-25 last season, including three top-10 opponents in No. 2 UCLA, No. 4 Utah and No. 6 Michigan State.
The Gophers finished 25-7 (8-1 Big Ten) in 2025, making the NCAA Regional Finals for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

2025 Season Accomplishments:
- The team finished with the best conference record since the 2020 season (8-1).
- Second place conference finish is tied for the second-best ever in the Jenny Hansen era.
- 29th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance as a team.
- One of just three Big Ten teams to make four of the last five regional finals.
- Second straight year having an individual qualify for nationals.
- Big Ten Championships score of 197.425 was the third highest Minnesota score in the history of the Big Ten Championships.
- Four Golden Gophers earned All-Big Ten honors, including Mya Hooten making her five all-league team in five seasons. Jordyn Lyden, Sarah Moraw and Ava Stewart were named Second Team All-Big Ten while Stewart became the first freshman since 2021 to make the B1G All-Freshman Team.
- Mya Hooten made nationals for the fourth time in her career, including her second straight year as an individual. Hooten won floor event titles in 11 of 15 meets, going 9.900-or-better 10 times.
- Mya was named First Team All-Big Ten, WCGA Second Team All-America, NCAA Championships Second Team All-America and Academic All-Big Ten.
- Eighth straight season with a WCGA Regular Season All-American.
- Third time in the last five seasons with an NCAA Championships All-American.
- Seventh straight year with four-or-more All-B1G selections.
- Eighth straight year with 10+ Academic All-Big Ten honorees.
