Prior to Minnesota: Morgan played for four years at St. Lawrence before joining the Gophers. During her time at St. Lawrence, she complied career stats of 110 games played, GAA of 1.99, a SV% of .928, and had a record of 42-48-17. She recorded 13 shutouts during her four years with St. Lawrence.

High School/Club: Morgan was a two-year starter in goal for Maple Grove, posting a .943 save percentage and a 1.35 goals against average with 18 shutouts. She was the runner-up for the Senior Goalie of the Year award, was named in Super 100 Seniors, and Class AA All-Breakdown in Hockey Magazine. She was an All-State, All-Conference, and Academic All-Conference selection in both seasons. 

Prior to playing for Maple Grove, Morgan played for Mandan High School in North Dakota, earning First-Team All-State and All-Tournament Team honors after stopping 50 shots in a 2-1 overtime upset over Fargo in the NDHSAA State Hockey Tournament. She was also a two-time All-Conference and Academic All-Conference selection in North Dakota.
