    Volunteer Diving Coach
John Dailey is currently in his third year as volunteer diving coach for the University of Minnesota's men and women divers, and assistant to head coach Wenbo Chen. 

Dailey has been coaching and officiating diving for more than 39 years, as well as coaching age gorup club and high school diving for most of that time - most recently at Edina High School. He has also served as head coach of the Minnesota Diving Academy.

He has coached six Minnesota State High School Champions, numerous MSHSL medalists, 28 high school All-Americans and two Athena Award winners. Dailey has veen voted high school section "Coach of the Year" 18 times, and was named "Minnesota Class AA Girls Swim and Dive Coach of the Year" by the Minnesota Swim and Dive Coaches Association and Minnesota High School Coaches Association in 2010-2011 and again in 2011-2012. 

Administratively, Dailey has served on the Minnesota State High School League's Swimming and Diving Advisory Committeee. He is an MSHSL registered swim and dive official and is a safety-certifed, registered coach with USA Diving. 

Over the years, more than a dozen of his divers have attended universities on diving scholarships, including one who competed at the 2000 Olympics and two that are now NCAA Division I diving coaches.

Dailey is a former University of Minnesota diver himself.
