High School: A graduate of Johnson Senior High School · competed in three Minnesota state meets · a four-time All-St. Paul City Conference selection · won conference titles in the 100m, 200m and 400m · holds school records in all three events: 100m (12.14), 200m (25.35) and 400m (60.00) · received the Dukes Award and Gunnar Sheff Most Outstanding Female Athlete Award · Dave Winfield Award finalist · coached by Henry Combs, Trumaine Lindsey and Paul Jackson · also ran cross country and played soccer one year each · graduated ninth in her class.
