David Ganser is in his third year asĀ the Assistant Director of Operations. The 2016 season marks his fifth year with Gopher Volleyball and third as a full-time employee, after serving as a volunteer assistant in 2011 and 2012. Ganser's responsibilities include video coordination and in-game statistics.

Before joining the Gopher staff, Ganser was the head men's and women's volleyball coach at Hannibal-LaGrange University. Ganser held the role of the women's head coach from 2006-2010, while being named the men's coach in January of 2008.

With the women's team, Ganser was named the 2010 American Midwest Conference Coach of the Year as he coached the program to its first-ever winning season (19-12). During his five years as the women's coach, he coached two Midwest All-Region players (Jessica Curry and Wanessa Siquiera), three first-team American Midwest All-Conference honorees (Curry, Siquiera and Erika Davis) and seven academic All-Americans. In taking over the men's program, Ganser coached the team to a No. 10 national ranking in just the second year of the program's existence in 2010. During the two-year span, Ganser coached First Team All-MAMVIC selection Tom Burke. In both roles at Hannibal-LaGrange, he was responsible for team training, conditioning, scheduling and fundraising.

Ganser has Division I experience as well, holding an assistant coaching role at Boston College and Cincinnati. As a second assistant at Boston College, he broke down video, assisted with offensive and defensive game strategy. He also helped with recruiting, which the class ranked 28th in the nation by prepvolleyball.com. Prior to his BC position, he served as a volunteer assistant at Cincinnati.

He also has coaching experience at the club level wherehe served as a head coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Northern Lights from 2010-14, the Smash Volleyball Club in 2005-06, the Mizuno Cincy Classics Volleyball Club from 2002-04 and Network Volleyball Club from 1996-97.

Ganser, graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in education. He and his wife, Katie, have two daughters, Adrie and Emma.
