Dusty Clements

Dusty Clements is Executive Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer at the University of Minnesota. He has oversight of all development and external areas of Gopher Athletics and also serves as the sport administrator for football. Clements joined Minnesota in June 2017.
Since 2017, Clements has overseen the Golden Gopher Fund (GGF), which is the fundraising arm of Gopher Athletics. The GGF works in coordination with the University of Minnesota Foundation and is responsible for all philanthropic giving to athletics. Clements also directs Minnesota’s external areas, which include ticket sales & service, marketing, communications, creative services, digital productions and licensing. Other areas of oversight also include facilities & event operations, equipment operations, information technology, M Club (letterwinners association) and NIL & risk management. Â
In addition, he manages all football scheduling, provides budget oversight and approval for football and works cohesively with the head football coach and football staff. Clements is also a member of Athletic Director Mark Coyle’s executive management team
Clements joined Minnesota from Boise State, where he most recently served as Senior Associate AD/External Operations. He worked at Boise State from 2015-17 and started his tenure as Associate AD/Development leading the Bronco Athletic Association.
Prior to Boise State, Clements spent eight years at Oklahoma, working in different roles with the Sooner Club. He was the Assistant AD/Development from 2012-15 and was previously the Director of Athletics Development (2009-12) and Director of Annual Giving (2007-09).
Clements also worked at Wyoming as a development officer from 2004-07 and was Assistant Commissioner/Media Relations at the Big Sky Conference from 2001-04.
Clements earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and his master’s in communication from Wyoming. He is a native of Gillette, Wyo., and he and his wife Julie have three children, Dalton, Addison and Brooklyn.
