GILBERT AND PIROGLU LEAD GOPHER WOMEN TO VICTORY

Gilbert, a fireshman forward, scored 17 points on 7-of-10 from the field, while pulling down 11 rebounds to capture the first double-double of her Gopher career. Piroglu, a sophomore point guard, followed suit by scoring 14 points and dishing out a career-high 10 assists.
Kim Prince scored six points in the game's first four minutes to help Minnesota race out to a 13-4 lead. The Rams chipped away at the Gophers' lead, then ended the half with an 11-0 run to take a 33-28 lead at halftime. Ram forward Kristine Austgulen scored four of her team-high 15 points in the stretch and guard Rochelle Luckett banked in a three-pointer for the top of the key as time as the half ended.
The Gophers shot 63 percent in the second half, making 15-of-24 attempts to slowly pull away from the Rams. Center Kim Bell hit a short hook shot at the 14:28 mark to break a 41-41 tie and give Minnesota the lead for good. Gilbert knocked down 11 points and Piroglu 10 to fuel the Gophers' second-half offensive push.
Minnesota finished with four players in double figures for the third time this season with Prince (14) and Lindsay Lieser (11) joining Gilbert and Piroglu in double digits. Liz Remus scored 14 points and Luckett added 10 for the Rams.
The Gophers' next action is Friday, Dec. 8, when they travel to Athens, Ohio, to face Ohio U.
