Jack Hannahan earned Big Ten co-Player of the Week honors while senior pitcher Kelly Werner earned Big Ten co-Pitcher of the Week honors for their performances this past week. Hannahan shared the honor with Chris Basak from Illinois, and Werner shared the honor with Gabe Ribas from Northwestern.

Hannahan, a native of St. Paul, batted .625 in five games last week for the Golden Gophers. He was 10-17 from the plate with seven RBIs and five runs scored, including two doubles and a home run. In Sunday's 13-5 win over Ohio State, Hannahan was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, two runs scored and a home run. In the second game, a 7-1 Minnesota win, Hannahan was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Werner, a native of Eau Claire, Wis., has been outstanding on the hill for the Golden Gophers in his last three starts. In those starts he is 3-0, has not allowed an earned run in his last 26 innings of work while opponents are batting just .147 (11-75) against him. In Sunday's 7-1 victory over Ohio State, Werner earned his second complete-game win of the year, going seven innings scattering four hits and striking out four. Ohio State's only run of the game was an unearned run, breaking a string of 24 straight scoreless innings. He currently has a record of 4-3 with an ERA of 3.42.

Minnesota (19-13, 6-2) travels to Ames, Iowa to take on the Iowa State Cyclones (9-24, 3-12) in a midweek game on Wednesday. They will then travel to Evanston, Ill. next weekend for a four-game series with the Northwestern Wildcats (15-14, 2-6).
